Fresh Makeup Looks for Spring

I don't know about you guys but after this harsh winter I was so ready to see the snow melt. Now that spring is well underway, its time to refresh your beauty routine!

For makeup looks this time of year, I like to take inspiration from the bright, dewy mornings and abundance of budding florals. Pastel colours and pink hues, although versatile enough to be used any time, really fit this season well and provide a contrast to the darker looks more suitable to winter months.

For makeup that screams bright and fresh

Try incorporating the below themes into your makeup regime:

1. Dewy and Glowing Skin -

Before applying any makeup the key to getting this look is moisture! Don't forget to apply moisturizer morning and evening, as well as an SPF if you will be spending some time in the sun. Opt for sheer to medium coverage foundations to let your natural skin shine through and avoid products that are overly mattifying. To add dimension to your base, sweep highlighting powder on your forehead, the bridge of your nose, brow bone, and cheekbones. Feel free to add some clear gloss and you'll give yourself a natural "lit from within" glow.

2. Monochromatic Tones -

Picking similar shades of the same colour is a flattering way to add life to your makeup. Use the one or two varying shades on your eyes, cheeks and lips for a put-together look. Feel free to mix shimmer with matte tones or stick to one or the other. Pastel pinks and pale peach colours are great options to choose but the world is your oyster!

3. Pink Lips -

I probably don't need to point out that pink lip colours are always great. That being said, now is the perfect time to paint your pout with floral and romantic colours. Whether you pair a soft pink lip with glam eye makeup, or choose a brighter hue with a more natural eye, you really can't go wrong.
