Give Your Hair and the Planet Some Love with "Love Beauty and Planet" Hair Care

I wanted to take a minute to talk about hair. I am guilty of never being satisfied with my hair. If I have it long I want it short, If it's short I want it long, if I have bangs I want to grow them out - the grass always seems greener with a different hairstyle. Since I have never dyed my hair (mostly because I am to chicken too) I am always looking for ways to switch up my routine and add a little spice. I usually do this by opting for a new shampoo and conditioner each time mine runs empty.

While browsing the hair care aisle one day, I happened across the Love Beauty and Planet brand of shampoo/conditioner. I hadn't heard of it before but decided to give it a try. I was intrigued by the variety of hair concerns the product line addressed and of course the pretty, feminine packaging didn't hurt either! After doing some more research into their brand philosophy, I discovered that they truly value our planet and are committed to doing their part, which is refreshing to see in the beauty industry. Every bottle is made with 100% recycled plastic and can be recycled again once the bottle is empty.- they are working towards the same for their caps but aren't quite there yet. Love Beauty and Planet is a vegan brand that doesn't test on animals. Their products are also formulated without the use of silicon and parabens for an added bonus. All of this sounded amazing but...would it work for my hair?

Since my hair is very fine, it tends to get oily quickly so I always need to be conscious of the type of conditioner I purchase. I chose to try 'Volume and Bounty' shampoo and conditioner which promised to add body to fine hair. Even though I was skeptical that it wouldn't deliver, I was so happy when it did! In a typical week I would need to wash my hair 3-4 times in order to keep oil at bay, but with Love Beauty and Planet I can now get away with washing it only twice - a huge score for helping grow my locks out quickly. The coconut smell is perfect and the weightless conditioner allows my hair to hold its style for hours longer than it did with other product brands. I also find that with this, I need to use less product which makes the bottle last longer helping to justify the slightly higher cost. I've also never before seen a conditioner that has fast rinse technology meaning hair comes clean in record time. Perfect for those quick showers before work AND it helps save water. All in all, if you're looking for a product that does what it says and contributes to the wellbeing of our precious planet then I highly recommend this.

The next time I feel I need a change in my hair routine, maybe I'll opt for a funky haircut instead because this time my shampoo and conditioner will be staying the same!
